Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has showered President Uhuru Kenyatta with praises and said they are now “buddies” despite the political enmity that reigned between them in the lead up to the 2017 elections.
While reminiscing the heated moments in 2017 where she called the head of state imprintable words, the ODM lawmaker said those words were appropriate at that time but now the president was “my darling”.
Speaking to journalist Jacque Maribe on her YouTube channel, the vocal lawmaker said she had known Uhuru for a long time since they even worked together in a crucial committee some years back.
She said she knows a side of the president which proves “he is an extremely nice guy” adding that their friendship was in a better place than before.
“For that time, it was okay (the name-calling) but for now, we are buddies,” she said.
The politician also said she is open to support any other candidate if Raila Odinga is no longer running for the top seat so long as the person is picked by her party, ODM.
Uhuru and Millie’s picture causes a stir
Recently, during a Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) retreat on Monday, November 2, a few particular photos of the head of state and Millie tightly embracing each other excited Kenyans especially since the president had jokingly conveyed his plans to get a wife from the Lakeside region.
The two could be seen enjoying each other’s company going by the smiles on their faces and the president’s hand was over Millie’s shoulder.
After the photo session, they still walked together, arm in arm as other lawmakers looked on.
Kenyans were actually excited after spotting the lovely photos on social media with many wondering whether Uhuru had succeeded in getting a Luo wife.
Needless to say, the 2018 handshake between the first in command and Raila became the magic bullet that turned foes into allies and vice versa.
TUKO.co.ke reported of Uhuru’s trip to Kisumu where he joked that he was searching for a Luo woman to cook him ugali if “mama” (Margaret Kenyatta) at home agrees to the idea.
