President on Friday, November 20, held a closed-door meeting with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Chief Bisi Akande.

It was held at the State House in Abuja with no official statement delivered on the purpose of the meeting between the president and the APC chieftains from the southwest region.

The meeting came barely 24 hours Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state officially defected to the ruling party after months of anxiety and speculations.

Legit.ng gathers that apart from Chief Akande who is the former national chairman of APC, the meeting was also attended by former governor of Ogun state Segun Osoba, Tajudeen Olusi and Dr. Abayomi Finnih.

Meanwhile, the Buhari on Thursday night, November 19, hosted Governor Umahi to a dinner at the State House.

Other dignitaries at the event included governors elected on the platform of the ruling party.

Among the governors in attendance were Mai Mala Buni, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, Abubakar Bagudu and Abubakar Bello.
