Dar es Salaam. The newly appointed Member of Parliament, Prof
Shukrani Manya, promised today when taking the oath that he
would work diligently with integrity towards pushing forward
Tanzania’s development.
Before being sworn in, Prof Mwanya was the executive secretary
of the Mining Commission of Tanzania.
He was sworn in today, December 11, 2020 by the Speaker of the
National Assembly, Mr Job Ndugai, at Parliament grounds a few
hours after President appointed Prof Manya as MP
and Deputy Minister for Minerals.
His appointment comes just a day after the would-be deputy
Minister for Minerals, Mr Francis Ndulane, whose appointment
was annulled after the latter failed to properly take his oath of
office during the swearing in function at Chamwino State House.
His appointment starts immediately and will be sworn in as the
Deputy Minister this afternoon.
Prof Manya thanked President Magufuli for having confidence in
him to oversee the Ministry.
“This is all God’s work, I did not plan to become the Deputy
Minister today, but it goes to show that God is the decider for who
we are today and tomorrow,” he said.
After Swearing in Prof Manya, Speaker Ndugai urged him to work

hard and ensure he meets President’s Magufuli’s delivery speed
for the development of Tanzania and its people.
“Congratulations for being one of the President’s appointees, we
are now awaiting three ACT Wazalendo’s MPs to make a decision
whether they are ready to join us or continue roaming about,” he
said.
