The Inspector General of Police Okoth Ochola and his Deputy Sabiiti Muzeyi pay a keen interest in sport.

Joshua Cheptegei and his coach Benajamin Njia are full of praises for Uganda Police Force.

They have attributed their improved performance to the backing of the force.

The two police officers said police has always stood by them.

“They give us salary, allowances, food and enough time to train. What more would anyone ask for?” wondered Njia.

Both Njia and Cheptegei are Inspectors of Police. But with the recent wave of success that has seen Cheptegei break three world records, a promotion could be underway.

They insist that besides serving as officers, sportsmen must be given ample training time.

Establishment of a high altitude training camp in Kapchorwa is one way of ensuring the sports club runs smoothly.

Police not only boasts of Uganda’s biggest but also most successful club.

Uganda Prisons, Uganda Wildlfe Authority and Uganda People Defence Forces all have strong spots clubs.

President has advised jobless  youth to join these clubs. The clubs are in turn supposed to employ the youth.
