As Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up for his Himachal Pradesh towards the end of this week, paragliding instructor Budhi Prakash is hoping to meet the BJP leader he one took on a paragliding adventure in 1997.
Twenty-seven years ago, according to a report in IANS, Budhi Prakash took then BJP worker in Himachal Pradesh, Narendra Modi on a paragliding expedition. Budhi Prakash remembers PM Narendra Modi as “sturdy and daring” from his 1997 maiden paragliding experience.
Even though Budhi Prakash was hoping to meet PM Modi 27 years later, security issues and a tight schedule may not permit the same.
However, Budhi Prakash remembers the paragliding trip taken by Narendra Modi in Solang Valley. Prakash says Narendra Modi was then in-charge of BJP’s Himachal Pradesh unit when he had the opportunity to take him on the expedition in Solang.
The first paraglider pilot who accompanied Narendra Modi was Budhi Prakash, a known instructor for backpackers, honeymooners and tourists in Solang Valley, which is 13 km uphill from Manali.
“Modiji was sturdy and daring when he did his maiden paragliding in 1997,” an elated Prakash told IANS.
