There’s a little more hope on the horizon! On Monday, an American biotechnology company announced that thecandidate has shown promising results in its trial stages.
In a statement shared on November 16, Moderna released a statement sharing information about the possible shot.
According to the company, it’s been 94.5% effective in its trial stages, per their preliminary data.
Moderna says 30,000 volunteers are involved in the study, all of whom received either the real vaccination or a placebo shot.
That should give us all hope that actually a vaccine is going to be able to stop this pandemic and hopefully get us back to our lives.

While this is promising, it’s the fact two companies have now found similar results that’s most reassuring, according to Moderna’s president, Dr. Stephen Hoge.
