Angelina Jolie to Direct ‘Unreasonable Behaviour’ About Famed War Photographer Don McCullin

Angelina Jolie is set to direct “Unreasonable Behaviour,” a biopic about famed British war photographer Sir Don McCullin.Based on McCullin’s autobiography of the same name, the movie is being produced by Tom Hardy and Dean Baker under their Hardy Son & Baker banner alongside Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. McCullin and Mark George are exec producing.Gregory Burke is writing the screenplay for “Unreasonable Behaviour,” which is described as “an unflinching account of the celebrated British war photographer’s life, which took him from poverty-stricken, wartime London to some of the world’s most dangerous war zones.”Also Read: Angelina Jolie and Christoph Waltz in Talks for Music Drama ‘Every Note Played’ at STXMcCullin rose to fame for his black and white images taken in Vietnam and Cambodia while he was working for The Observer and The Sunday Times Newspapers. The British photographer risked his life to capture these images of war, which are highly regarded for their depiction of human suffering.“I am humbled to have a chance to bring Don McCullin’s life to film,” Jolie, who most recently co-wrote and directed the historical biopic “First They Killed My Father,” said in a statement. “I was drawn to his unique combination of fearlessness and humanity – his absolute commitment to witnessing the truth of war, and his empathy and respect for those who suffer its consequences.
