Chile Calls For Green Development After Virus Crisis

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – President of Chile Sebastian Pinera, speaking from the UN Climate Ambition Summit, said on Saturday that the recovery for the economic crisis from the COVID pandemic should be in line with sustainable development.

Pinera said it was a “false dilemma” to choose between economic recovery and sustainable development. He also welcomed the announcement by U.S. President-Elect to rejoin the Paris agreements, although he said Washington needed to do more.
