Two people working as administrative staff for the president tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday, prompting special protocols to be enacted.

The two have their offices outside of the premises presidential palace and were identified via random sampling.

President had no direct contact with the positive cases but has still taken a test which, according to the Cyprus News Agency, has come back negative. Government spokesman Kyriacos Koushos and other officials have also taken tests which have come back negative.
