NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF Aug 23, 2020, 6:00 PM CEST):

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, Aug 23, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 93,400 in 403 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 22725 in Tehran, 6666 in Khorasan Razavi, 6339 in Khuzestan, 4495 in Qom, 4151 in Isfahan, 3932 in Lorestan, 2735 in Alborz, 2628 in Fars, 2222 in Kermanshah, 1254 in Hormozgan, 1181 in Markazi (Central), 1129 in Yazd,1097 in Ardabil, 622 in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 545 in Kohgiluyehn and Boyer Ahmad. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

Survivors of Iran’s 1988 Massacre, Lawmakers, and Legal Experts Call on UN To Investigate Regime’s Crime Against Humanity

Survivors of Iran’s 1988 massacre of political prisoners, international legal experts, and human rights and political dignitaries on Saturday held a webinar appealing to the United Nations and its Member States to carry out an independent investigation into the massacre.

Following a fatwa handed down by the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini in mid-July 1988, ‘Death Commissions’ were set up in prisons across Iran that sent thousands of political prisoners to their deaths.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Sunday, August 23, 2020, marks the 281st day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:

Number of martyrs: At least 1500

Number of injured: More than 4,000
