Green shoots are suddenly popping up everywhere. That’s green as in Greta Thunberg, not Norman Lamont.

First it was chancellor Rishi Sunak’s announcement earlier this month that the UK will issue its first green sovereign bond next year. In the same breath, he also announced plans to make climate risk disclosure mandatory for large companies from 2025. Then, last week, prime minister unveiled his 10-point plan for a £12bn “green industrial revolution”.
