Remember those Joe Biden candles that regularly sold out at the Delaware History Museum?

Well, they are back. And this time, Kamala candles have joined the ticket.

The Wilmington museum has teamed up once again with St. Louis-based husband/wife candle company JD + Kate Industries, but this time it’s different.

Not only have the the orange-scented Biden candles returned, but Vice President-elect Kamala Harris candles have been added, smelling like a lotus flower blossom because “kamala” means “lotus” in Sanskrit.

Also new this time around: online-only sales because the museum is closed to the public due to the pandemic.

The candles, which cost $24 each, will be sold for a limited time at jdandkateindustries.com.

BIDEN BEER:Joe Biden beer is here. And Wilmington Brew Works will release it on Delaware Day.

If you use the DEHISTORY coupon code, you will receive a 15 percent discount and 10 percent of the proceeds will go to the Delaware Historical Society.

The scented candles fist appeared at the museum’s store in 2017 and immediately became its best-selling item with hundreds sold.

“Customers think it’s hilarious and then everyone’s like, ‘What does Joe smell like?’ and they have to open it and smell it,” Karen Kegelman, the museum’s advancement officer, told Delaware Online/The News Journal in 2018.

When Biden announced his presidential run in April 2019, the museum stopped reordering the candles to stay neutral.

But once Biden and Harris won, Kegelman knew she had to get the candles back, even though the museum was closed.

Both candles have humorous messages written on them.

On the Biden candle, they list some “fast facts” including, “His middle name is Robinette, which is going to look great tattooed on your lower back” and “He was elected to the Senate at age 29, and it is a credit to the willpower of Delawareans that they were able to wait that long.”

The Biden candles smell like orange Gatorade, which he told US Weekly in 2016 was his favorite drink.

The Harris candles have cheeky notes of their own, written on the lavender candle tin.

“People are asking: How do you pronounce her name? It’s HAIR-iss.”

And then there’s the part where the candles ask if you have what it takes to be attorney general of California, Harris’ old job.

“Did you go to law school? Did you graduate from law school? You know it’s not a real general, right?”

Kate Dobson of JD + Kate Industries says, “Kamala Harris has such a soothing and reassuring way about her, and that’s what I wanted to capture with the scent. She always seems so calm and cool, so I felt like it fit.”

While it’s unknown if Harris has heard about the candle, Kegleman says Biden definitely knows about them.

When his daughter Ashley was at the museum in 2019, museum officials gave her one to give to Biden.

In addition to the Biden and Harris candles, JD + Kate Industries also sells candles dedicated to President Obama, Sen. and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, among others.

An anti-President Trump candle is also available with a fake tuft of orange hair affixed to the top of the can.
